Originally from Brasil, Pedro attended UBC to complete his combined honors in biochemistry and chemistry under Dr. Glenn Sammis where he researched a novel oxidative decarboxylation using hypervalent iodine reagents. After graduating, he moved to McGill to pursue his PhD in chemistry in the Li lab in order to study the development of green catalytic methodologies such as HOME chemistry. In his free time, Pedro enjoys hiking, reading and baking.
