Juan Camilo Fonseca is from Bogota, Colombia. After spending his youth in the south, he moved to Canada and is currently in his last year of undergraduate studies in the honors bio-organic chemistry program. During his undergraduate studies, he worked on peptide synthesis in the Lubell Lab at the University of Montreal. Later, Juan Camilo joined the Li Lab in the summer of 2024, focusing on manganese-catalyzed reactions of hydrazones, and returned in the summer of 2025, focusing on gallium nitride catalysis. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, camping, and watching movies with friends.
