Dayton was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. He pursued his undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto, where he worked with the Lautens and Chin group en route to a degree in Biological Chemistry. Dayton joined the Li Group at McGill in Fall 2025 to begin his graduate studies, where he aims to work with hydrazone chemistry. In his spare time, he enjoys playing and watching sports, as well as listening to music.
